Phoslock Environmental Technologies Limited (PET) has announced a partnership arrangement with SSI Services (UK) Limited, aimed at driving improved customer engagement, seamless application support and technical reach nationally.
SSI Services is the specialist contracting division of South Staffordshire Plc, providing expert design, engineering and maintenance services for essential water, wastewater, energy, and utility infrastructure throughout the UK
In making the announcement, PET managing director and CEO Lachlan McKinnon said the partnership is an exciting new chapter for both companies, with end-use customers set to benefit.
“We are delighted to partner with an organisation of the calibre of SSI Services, bringing trusted and proven environmental remediation technologies to customers that manage our most precious resource – water.
“Together, we will continue to help address nutrient loads in waterways; either preventing it from happening or remediation if it does.
“The SSI Services team, predominantly via its waterways’ deployment and site specialist business OnSite, will work closely with our PET Europe team to provide total product and solution services to customers, including project planning, Phoslock® applications, seasonal maintenance, water sampling and scientific testing, site surveys and reviews.
“Our aim is to deliver seamless, end-to-end water management solutions that are practical, effective, efficient and safe, with long-term consumer benefits.”
SSI Services managing director, water, waste & infrastructure Simon Dray is looking forward to offering UK water body operators the full suite of Phoslock services and solutions.
“Protecting the environment and enhancing water quality is of great importance to us, so we are delighted to be a strategic partner for PET in the UK and Ireland,” he said.
“They are a great team with exceptional, environmentally friendly products which are supported by scientific research and expertise for successful waterway outcomes.
“As a business that helps clients manage water quality, we believe it is essential to focus on upstream water sources and catchment management plans to benefit leisure activities, natural eco-systems, wildlife, and ultimately the water that we may all drink.
“That’s where innovative solutions have a role to play, which is why this partnership is so important.”
UK & Europe general manager for PET, Damian Whelan said identifying a partner such as SSI for the company’s UK business was important.
“SSI invested its own time and resources into understanding our technologies, and their desire to work closely with our experts was apparent right from our earliest discussions,” he explained.
“The ability to combine our technology with SSI’s operations and application capabilities will enhance market entry, build awareness, and reinforce client confidence. It will enable the delivery of sustainable end to end solutions in the fight against the effects of climate change and nutrient pollution for healthy waterways.
“We are truly advancing our approach as a multiple water sector solution provider, supporting both new and existing clients, to address nutrient loading and its safe effective removal from our waters.”
